Louisiana Brings Mardi Gras to DFW!

The Shreveport-Bossier Tourist Bureau is bringing the Mardi Gras experience to the DFW area with a Mardi Gras Pop Up Party on January 23, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. at event1013 in historical downtown Plano.  This free event invites guests to enjoy all things Mardi Gras, including live entertainment from Musikology, king cake tastings, door prizes and more.

Also, fifth-generation restauranteur, Damien Chapman, will be in attendance serving up his signature gumbo. You find can more information on Damien Chapman below.  Chef Damien is a fifth-generation restauranteur and owner of Shreveport’s historic creole eatery, Orlandeaux’s Café. The restaurant occupies the space that formerly housed Brother’s Seafood to Go, owned by his late father, Chef Orlando Chapman. At age 14, Damien starting working at the family restaurant bussing tables. After high school, he decided to start his own path and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern University’s A&M College in Baton Rouge and then accepted a job as a field engineer with Halliburton. In 2013, Damien’s father died suddenly from a heart attack, and Brother’s Seafood to Go declined and eventually closed. With this devastating news, Damien decided to leave his job to carry on the family legacy in Shreveport. In 2018, 29-year-old Damien Chapman stepped up to the plate to breathe life back into the restaurant, including a new name, Orlandeaux’s, in honor of his father and his contributions to one of Shreveport’s most authentic and lasting culinary traditions.

Breshell had an interesting start to blogging. She went graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science in Health Care administration. Upon graduation she became a radio host of her own talk show called ‘The Good News’ on KVGI Radio where she interviewed countless celebrities on a weekly basis. She has had the opportunity to walk in New York Fashion Week, appear in national commercials and work with many Fortune 500 companies personally with her blogging career. The success of her blogging career and radio show helped land her the position ‘Chief of Staff’ in a world renown digital marketing agency in Dallas. Breshell now resides in Frisco, Texas with her husband, fur baby and first baby on the way.​
