Hello fam! The West’s are *finally* getting settled into our new home which is making life 100% more fun. I feel like with every box unpacked and organized my brain becomes much happier. Not to mention it gives me the perfect excuse to start decorating!

This weekend our big home project was my office! I wanted sophisticated chic vibes that weren’t cheesy which is why I decided to go with black walls, modern line art and ornate finishes to really give it that pop. The best part?? Everything was done on a budget! All the details and links are below to recreate this look for yourself!
Walls
I went with the color Carbon (N520-7D) Matte in Behr Scuff Defense found at Home Depot. At our old house we learned that a matte paint was easier to touch up however scuffed easily which is why we went with the scuff defense!
Brushes make a HUGE differense too! We went with this microfiber paint kit as well as the extender paint roller. Pro tip – make sure to use the microfiber paint rollers on the extender paint roller!
Lastly, painters tape! We at first tried the original painters tape and it was a major fail. Once I had finished taping everything I noticed that the edges were coming up…so back to the store we went! This one worked TONS better.

Art Work
One of my favorite things to do is download digital prints from Etsy. It’s the most cost effective way to get some REALLY cool art! Pairing this with my go to Ribba Frame from IKEA makes it look like a million bucks. (Linking the 24×35 Ribba Frame here and the fashion line art here.) I then went to Walmart to print the line art in 20×30″ to fit the large frames! *be sure your art is centered as there is a framing mat included*
Rug
The cowhide is definitley one of my favorite pieces in this room! I wanted a blonde cowhide to brighten up the space and found the perfect one at Furniture Buy Consignement. If you’re local definiltey check them out as they always have a great selection and price on cow hides! Or check out this one and this one I found online!

Lighting
I never realized how much lighting could really make or break a room. It’s one of those things that seem ‘standard’ however when the right lighting is put in it just takes everything to the next level! In order to add more ‘wow’ to my $10 prints I found these gallery lights on amazon for only $28. The best part is that they are battery operated and come with a remote which means easy install!
The chandelier that I picked out is also a steal on amazon for only $155! This three tiered crystal chandelier gives me all the Restoration Hardware vibes without the cost.
And that wraps up everything we’ve done thus far for my office makeover! Sitting at my desk typing this I have a few thoughts about what I want to change up next such as adding drapes, changing all the white outlets to black, maybe painting the botton trim black?? But for now, it’s perfect!
Let me know if you have any questions and yes…this is your sign to paint that wall BLACK!
